Terms & Conditions

• Each participant can submit up to five pictures, all dated January 1st 2006 or later.
  The participant must register with full name and address, sex, age and nationality.
  Age limit for participating is 15 years.
  
  
• The pictures should all be marked with location where the picture is taken, date taken and the name of the ship if relevant as well as a short description of the photograph.
  Pictures must be in JPEG-format, and taken using maximum resolution on your camera.
  
  
• By entering a photo into the competition the photographer verifies that he/she owns or has the necessary rights, licenses and consents to grant Hurtigruten ASA a perpetual, non- exclusive, irrevocable, transferable, worldwide license to use the photo without compensation. Hurtigrutens license rights includes the right to edit, reproduce and make copies of the picture available to the public by any means both during- and after the photo competition, including but not limited to the use of the picture in print and digital marketing campaigns. Wherever possible the photos will be credited with the photographer’s name.
  
  
• It is the contributor’s responsibility to make sure that the people in pictures are aware of and have granted permission for the pictures to be used in this context.
  
  
• The submitted photos must depict a real situation or scenario such as weather.
  Submitted pictures must not be manipulated.
  
  
• The competition is open for everyone.

THE JUDGES

The judges consist of three persons that are appointed by Hurtigruten ASA. The pictures will be appraised carefully with technical quality as one of the criteria. We publish the best photos from our web gallery every month and a monthly winner is announced. The judges can however decide to award “Picture of the Year” to someone other than a monthly winner.

The judge’s decision is final.
